Consider this LJ semi f-locked. No friend no talk. So drop me a note only after you've read my profile. If that doesn't make you run for the hills, then I'd be very pleased to make friends with someone equally demented. Heh.

Oh. Random ramblings and rants are, of course, available for viewing.

Do you consider yourself an optimist, a pessimist, or a realist?

I'm a realist, but I've been called a pessimist by some people with their heads up in the clouds. Go figure.

I'm not doing decades this weekend - next weekend perhaps. I want to have actually listened to the songs I post. This weekend's a mix of whatever's on shuffle in my player.

Interesting article on an interesting man. Rebel he may be, but I don't care a whit for his Calvinist theology.

The sad fact is that practically every church depends on a sort of founding pastor or figurehead to disseminate its particular brand of theology and ideology. That is why I could never willingly join any church. Ultimately it is man or woman interpreting the Bible and are WAY too fallible for my liking. I haven't lost my faith in God, only humans. Oh, and I can read, thank you very much.

Mark Driscoll is welcome to his Calvinism, his machismo and his followers. God bless them anyway.

What is the one question you've always wanted someone to ask you?

"What do you REALLY think of me?"

A veritable Pandora's Box, if there ever was one. XD

Sometimes it's the thought that counts, and other times it's the thing itself. What's the best gift you've ever received, thoughtful or otherwise?

A pair of cufflinks from my "godbrother". Not so much the gift as the thought behind it, especially since he's running his own financial-advisory practice on full commission and times have been bad.

Dear Chow Fah Hai,

You are obviously a non-Canto to have chosen such a ridiculous, self-derogatory moniker. However, I have to assume no one has such low self-esteem as to call herself something like that. So that term can only be a reference to yours truly. Well, muchas gracias.

Don't think I don't know you have been stalking my profile. How very juvenile - if you have something to say, just say it and quit skulking. I've blocked your profile, but you still manage to find a loophole.

If you read this, consider yourself duly warned. Whatever your agenda or vendetta, settle it out in the open like a man. Otherwise I couldn't be bothered with pissants like yourself.

Oh, and dear Chow Fah Hai? Mo yaan wui diu nei gor chow fah hai, nei yi gor sei baat po.

Today is known to some as the Day of Infamy, in commemoration of what happened at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. In your lifetime, what date sticks out as the most memorable in terms of world events?

View 500 Answers

Why, September 11, 2001 of course. I still remember that day as if it were yesterday.

I was at the radio, listening to 98.7FM I think, when the DJ interrupted to break that horrific news. I rushed to switch on the TV and sure enough, I was just in time to see the second plane smash into the tower. I still remember the disbelief and horror as the tower came crashing down.

I was half a world away in Singapore, but it was as if this was happening right in my own neighbourhood.
